Hobsons Bay resident sets up Blog about council problems!
Dear all,
A Hobsons Bay resident has set up their own blog outlining problems they have experienced with the Hobsons Bay council. It should make for some interesting reading in the coming months.
The url for the site is:
http://www.hobbobay.blogspot.com
Congratulations to Crusader for setting it up.

I am not about to get into a slanging match with 'Robert Matthews' (whoever he may be) but logic dictates that he must have read my comments in order to know that there was no criticism of his 'friend Brad' in them. Feel free to look all you like in future, Robert, because personal abuse is not what you will find on my site.
I know from talking to family, friends and neighbours that many of us have concerns about how our municipality is being managed and I have been inspired to set up my blog by the good people who founded the 'GetUp' movement as a response to the fall of the independent Senate.
In my small way, I am trying to make paid council officers accountable for what is done, or not done, in my neighbourhood.
As things stand, council officers can take on individuals secure in the knowledge they have the financial resources (that we contribute to, courtesy of our rates). They know we don't have the money to challenge decisions that adversely us as individuals. They know if we raise an issue or concern with them they can just say they will look into it and then let the matter drop.
I asked that my blog be listed on the HBCF blogsite because it already has a readership. If the official City if Hobsons Bay website wants to give me a link, I'll be delighted.
It is beyond me how an expose of planning anomalies, drainage issues, shoddy workmanship and traffic hazards can pose a threat to any person or organisation with the real interests of residents in mind.
