Happy New Year!
Dear All,
HBCF would like to wish all our supporters and their families the very best for the New Year.
We look forward to continuing our work as the union and lobby group for residents and other ratepayers in Hobsons Bay.
Kindest regards,
HBCF committee

Thank you for your comments Mary and Eunice.
While I respect your opinions about local journalists, I must say with honesty that HBCF has largely had a good working relationship with all of the local press including the Mail and the Star.
Sure there is some questionable press sometimes, and many people question why the local press continue to publish the shameless self-glorifying letters from a disgraced ex-councillor who is yet to apologise for his actions against the council, the community and HBCF. I personally believe the papers jeopardise their own credibility in publishing Mr Matheson's letters, and they will be at least partially responsible if he is re-elected. The recent articles giving Matheson a forum for personal attacks against Hans Paas during his election campaign for the Hepburn Council was probably the lowest bit of 'journalism' I have ever seen in the local press, although I should recognise that Stella and the Mail had absolutely nothing to do with it.
Best wishes for 2006,
Tony Briffa
